Humility

1. Humility

Acknowledge God as your Source for all things, including wisdom, direction, guidance, protection, and provision. Have total dependence on God, with deeper surrender to Him. Stop depending on yourself. Repent of trying to be self-sufficient. Stop promoting yourself, and drawing attention to yourself. Allow God to promote you.

“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” James 4:10.

“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you…” James 4:8.

“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18.

“…and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:5-7.

“And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.” Matthew 23:12. See also Luke 14:11 and Luke 18:14.

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” Psalm 51:17.

“For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” Isaiah 57:15

Do what God Says you are to do: humble yourself. Have faith and trust in God, to do what He Says He Will Do: He Will Exalt You. He dwells with humble, contrite people.

Prayer: Father God, please help me to always be humble, without any pride. Take away anything or anyone in my life that is an idol, that I have placed before You. I pray I would be able to humble myself, like Christ did, so that Your Will may be done. Remove the gods of Self, and The Love Of The World, I have been worshipping. Cause me to depend on You as my Source for all things. Help me to maintain faith in You continually, without ever doubting You or wavering in my faith, In Jesus’ Name.
